ANNOUNCEMENT



MERGER OF AS RIGAS MIESNIEKS AND AS RIGAS MIESNIEKS TRADING



On 26.05.2000 the annual general meeting of AS Rigas Miesnieks shareholders 

decided to merge AS Rigas Miesnieks (RM) and AS Rigas Miesnieks Trading

(RMT). 



RM is the largest subsidiary of Rakvere Lihakombinaat in Latvia; RMT is a 

Latvian company which main activity field is sale of meat products.



The final date of the merger of the two companies is 01.09.2000. The merger 

should result in decrease in expenditures and increased efficiency for both 

companies.
