COMMENTARY TO AS NORMA RELATIONS WITH AVTOVAZ



With regard to contradictory news recently published in the media, AS Norma 

informs the shareholders of the following.



Norma has supplied AVTOVAZ with safety belts since 1974. As a result of 

long-term co-operation, Norma and AVTOVAZ have developed good and reliable 

business relations. Norma has constantly been on AVTOVAZ's best suppliers 

list. 



Norma has a long-term co-operation and supply agreement with AVTOVAZ, 

whereby AVTOVAZ supplies currently produced cars and new models with safety 

belts made by Norma. Norma has a wide product portfolio, which includes 

necessary products for new car models made in Russia. In addition to the 

aforementioned, Norma also has an assembling factory in Russia, which can 

meet the additional orders from car factories. Currently Norma can satisfy 

majority of Russian car factories' demand for safety belts.



In the past years several safety belt producers have tried to enter the 

Russian market; however, their attempts have been unfruitful and Norma's 

market share in Russia has not decreased. Thus far Norma prefers not to fully 

produce the safety belts in Russia, since today it is not possible to buy 

quality safety belt components from Russia, and the cost of importing would 

be higher.
