NEW MEMBER OF THE BOARD



Olli Heinonen – a long time director of Hewlett Packard Baltics - has

been appointed as the new Head of Hansabank’s IT division.



Mr. Heinonen will take over the management of the IT division as

Hansabank’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) on January 15, 2001.  This

area was temporarily supervised for a period of one year by

Hansabank’s chairman of the board.



According to Indrek Neivelt, Olli Heinonen’s tasks in Hansabank will

include management of the IT function, developing IT strategies in

accordance with business objectives and realising synergies from pan-

Baltic IT management and co-operation with Swedbank.  As Hansabank’s

CIO, Mr. Heinonen is also a member of the board.



Olli Heinonen has been working for Hewlett Packard since 1975, when he

started as the district manager of testing and measurement in the

Finnish office. Since 1993, Olli Heinonen has been the director of

Hewlett Packard Baltics.



Olli Heinonen does not own Hansabank’s shares.
