ET RECOGNIZED AS COMPANY WITH SIGNIFICANT MARKET POWER



Estonian National Communications Board recognized AS Eesti Telefon 

(Estonian Telephone Company) as undertaking with significant market 

power on Estonian telephone, interconnection and leased line services 

markets as of 01.01.2001 in accordance with the Telecommunication 

Act.



Under the Telecommunication Act, Eesti Telefon as undertaking with 

significant market power must connect other operators’ 

telecommunication networks with its own networks, and provide 

interconnection services and access to all on equal conditions. 

Charges applied by public telecommunications network operator with 

significant market power for interconnection services, 

telecommunications network access, leased line services and universal 

services must be based on efficiency of the provision of the services 

and be calculated on the basis of reasoned costs.
