Norddeutsche  Landesbank  (NORD/LB)  has  increased  the  equity of its

daughter  company  JSC  "NORD/LB  Latvija"  by EUR 14 million. Thus, on

January  15, 2004 JSC "NORD/LB Latvija" equity will be more than LVL 30

million, and the bank will rank number four in Latvia according to this

criteria.  The equity has been increased on the account of subordinated

10-year loan from the parent company.
