In the first seven months of this year JSC "Balta" has underwritten LVL

019  in  non-life  insurance premiums, which is for 8% more than during

the  same  period of the previous year. LVL 5 300 037 have been paid in

insurance premiums.

The  profit from investments in the first seven months of this year has

reached LVL 733 762.

Starting  with  01.09.2001  JSC "Balta" will become a representative of

the  Royal&Sun  Alliance (RSA) in Latvia. The RSA is one of the leading

insurance  groups all over the world. It is represented in more than 55

countries.

Furthermore,  it is operational in almost 130 countries. The capital of

the  RSA  is  GBP 7 507 000. Its profit in 2000 has reached GBP 476 000

000.

In 2000 the RSA has signed GBP 8 372 000 in risk insurance premiums and

GBP 3

439 000 in life insurance premiums.
