JSC  "Grindeks"  net turnover in 6 month of 2001 reached LVL 5 826 853,

which  is  by  8%  more than during first half of 2000. Net profit in 6

month 2001 was LVL

446 thousand.

Sales  have grown gradually during this period in almost all regions of

Latvia.

Sales  during  this  year  grew by 11% compare to last year. There is a

little increase in Lithuania as well and in European markets were sales

increased by

40%.  In  Russia  sales  grew by 19%, in CIS markets by 39%. There is a

significant   increase   showing   in   sales   of   Grindeks  original

cardiovascular product -

Mildronate.  Most  called  for products in eastern regions are sleeping

pills Somnols and ointments of Tallinn Pharmaceutical plant - Viprosals

B, Kapsikams, Apilaks.

JSC Grindeks and Tallinn Pharmaceutical plant markets continue to grow.

There  is  an  increase of sales by 2 - 3 times in some Russian regions

such  as  Novosibirsk,  Volgograd  and  CIS  countries  - Kazakstan and

Azerbaijan.

JSC  Grinders  products  portfolio  during  I  half  of  2001  has been

supplemented by 6

new  products  - 2 prescription drugs, 3 infusions and 1 herbal complex

Grinvitals Cereloba plus.

Transfer to unified Baltic packaging has been fully completed.
