On  the  February 17,1999 shareholders of the JSC "Latvijas Investiciju

banka"  decided  to  rename  JSC  "Latvijas  Investiciju  banka" as JSC

"MeritaNordbanken Latvia" (MNB Latvia) starting April 1,1999.

MeritaNordbanken  Group is one of the largest financial institutions in

the  Nordic  countries  and  owns 69,605 % of JSC "Latvijas Investiciju

banka" shares.

MeritaNordbanken  Group  clients  are:  6,5 million private persons and

more than

400  000  companys  and  institutions. JSC "Latvijas Investiciju banka"

audited  financial  results  for  the  1998  will  be  published on the

February  23,1999  at  the  same time as MeritaNordbanken Group audited

financial results.
