NEW INVESTMENT PROJECT



Having evaluated the tendencies of market development and the needs of

customers, the Management Board of Ekranas AB decided to start producing flat

CPTs of long diagonal. The implementation of the project would be carried out

for almost two years (from 2002 until 2004). The value of this investment

project reaches almost USD 35 million (approx. LTL 122.5 million). The first

products would appear in 2004. Following the implementation of the project the

company would assemble 1 to 1.2 million units of large-size flat TV tubes.

This would enable the company to increase its sales volumes by one third

(in terms of units). The company will acquire a Japanese technological line

which will be mounted in the second assembling shop, which ceased its

activities in 1992. 400 jobs will be created.
