Acquisition of company "Hoechst-Biotika" in Slovakia



On 27 May, 2005, AB "Sanitas" signed an agreement entitling 

them to acquire a 100% stake in the Slovak pharmaceutical 

company "Hoechst-Biotika". "Hoechst-Biotika" is one of Europe's 

most technologically advanced producers of medical products, with

an output capacity greater than that of AB "Sanitas". The maximum 

annual production capacity for the newly-acquired factory is 38.5 mln. 

injection ampoules, 500 mln. tablets and 122 tonnes of ointment. 

The controlling stake in the factory will be acquired from "Aventis", 

a globally renowned pharmaceutical company. The total transaction size 

will amount to EUR 12.7 mln.
