Contract on reconstruction of Kaunas Hydro Power plant signed



On July 7, 2005 Lietuvos Energija AB and Swedish company ALSTOM Power Sweden AB signed a 

contract agreement on reconstruction of Kaunas hydro power plant. The contract price is 

LTL125m. The reconstruction of Kaunas HPP is to be completed by the end of  2007.

In order to finance the rehabilitation and modernization project of Kaunas Hydro Power 

Plant, by order No.4-238 of Minister of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania, dated 

June 20, 2005, LTL30m from European Structural Funds were allocated.
