In August SIA Ventspils nafta termināls handled more than a year ago



In August 2005, SIA Ventspils nafta termināls – the daughter company of the 

joint stock company Ventspils nafta handled 0.54 million tonnes of petroleum 

products delivered by railway; this is by 0.1 million tonnes more than in 

August 2004. August is traditionally perceived as a month during which 

petroleum products’ export is influenced by seasonal fluctuations of this 

market segment; this year being particularly dependable on market conditions. 



The total amount of cargo handled by SIA Ventspils nafta termināls in August 

was made up of 0.3 million tonnes of gas oil and more than 0.2 million tonnes 

of various gasoline grades, substantially exceeding the volumes of these 

products delivered to the terminal in previous years. 



The total amount handled by SIA Ventspils nafta termināls within the eight 

months of 2005 is almost 5.8 million tonnes of crude oil and petroleum 

products, including 2.7 million tonnes of gasoline and  2.8 million tonnes 

of gas oil, as well as 0.3 million tonnes of crude oil and other petroleum 

products.
