COMMENTARY TO ARTICLES PUBLISHED IN NEWSPAPERS

 

Due to continuing speculations published in the Estonian newspapers 

about the legality of account opening procedures of the Estonian 

commercial banks, we hereby confirm that AS Optiva Pank has followed 

all requirements provided by the Estonian legal acts for opening of 

bank accounts and identification of the clients.

 

In addition to routine client identification procedures upon opening 

of an account, the bank also regularly controls its client database 

in order to ensure the compliance of documents submitted by the clients 

with legal acts.
