2 MONTHS RESULTS OF SAULES BANKA, SUBSIDIARY OF ÜHISPANK

 

Saules Banka, the subsidiary of Ühispank in Latvia, earned a profit of 

82,400  LVL (2.01 million EEK) during the first two months of the current

year. The bank's profit in February amounted to 42,400 LVL. 

The balance sheet volume of Saules Banka decreased in February by 1.4%, 

or 889,000 LVL, to the level of 62,179 million LVL.

 

The volume of the bank's loan portfolio was 23,992 million LVL; the bank 

held deposits in the amount of 35,006 million LVL, of which 11,816 million 

LVL belonged to private persons. The owners' equity of Saules 

Banka amounted to 5.252 million LVL. As of the end of 1998, Saules Banka 

was the seventh largest bank in Latvia according to the balance sheet volume.
