P.T.A. GROUP OY WILL PURCHASE 43% SHAREHOLDING IN AS KLEMENTI 

 

According to the contract signed on 28.01.1999 in Tallinn by 

Optiva Pank and P.T.A. Group OY, P.T.A. Group OY will purchase 

from OÜ Fine Holding (subsidiary of Optiva Pank) 1,041,000 AS 

Klementi A - shares, which account for 43% of the shares of AS 

Klementi. The transaction was concluded due to counseling and 

negotiations, which have been taken place between Optiva Pank and 

different investors. 

 

P.T.A. Group OY is a leading Finnish clothing company, which is 

located in Kuopio. The 1998 turnover of P.T.A. Group OY was 165 

million FIM (434 million EEK), balance sheet volume as of 

31.12.1998 120 million FIM (316 million EEK), of which owners’ 

equity amounted to 50 million FIM (132 million EEK). The 

personnel of P.T.A. Group OY consists of 240 employees. P.T.A. 

Group OY is 100% owned by an investment and development company 

Captum Group OY. 

 

P.T.A. Group OY is a long-term client of AS Klementi (from year 

1991). The development of AS Klementi up to now is based largely 

on the cooperation with P.T.A. Group OY. As a result of the 

transaction, the connections will tighten further. At the same 

time, AS Klementi will continue to produce and market its 

products in the Baltic countries, Scandinavia and Central Europe. 

 

With the acquisition of 43% shareholding, P.T.A. Group OY becomes 

a strategic investor for AS Klementi. This will open new 

possibilities for the further growth of both companies.
