AS BALTIKA 1998 TURNOVER

 

AS Baltika 1998 unconsolidated and unaudited turnover was 227.9 million EEK, 

which is 18.5 million EEK more (9%) than in 1997 (net sales respectively 

209.5 million EEK). The share of exports in the net sales was 65% (148.3 

million EEK), thus the increase compared with 1997 (exports 133.8 million EEK) 

amounted to 14.5 million EEK(11%).

 

Compared with the last year, the net sales increased in Estonia by 5% (turnovers 

respectively 79.6 million EEK in 1998 and 75.6 million EEK in 1997), in Baltic 

countries 41% (turnovers respectively 36.0 million EEK in 1998 and 25.5 million 

EEK in 1997), and in EEC countries 16% (turnovers respectively 84.3 million EEK in 

1998 and 72.4 million EEK in 1997). Due to worsening of the economic environment 

in Russia, the sales to the CIS states decreased by 22% compared with the last year

(turnovers respectively 28.0 million EEK in 1998 and 35.9 million EEK in 1997). 

The amount of goods produced increased significantly (total 165.8 million EEK), 

where compared with 1997, the respective turnover increased by 19.0 million EEK (13%). 

Increase in the sales of goods produced was achieved mainly on the Finnish, Swedish, 

Latvian and Lithuanian markets, the turnover declined on the Russian and 

Ukrainian markets:

The share of the subcontracting production in the net sales has decreased 

from 27% (in 1997) to 23% (in 1998), thus the sales volumes were respectively 

53.3 million EEK in 1998 and 56.3 million EEK in 1997.
