THOMSON FINANCIAL BANKWATCH UPGRADED ÜHISPANK’S RATING



Yesterday, 15 February 2000, Thomson Financial BankWatch announced

it has upgraded Ühispank’s Intra-Country Issuer rating to grade A/B.

The prior rating was B/C.



The short-term debt rating was affirmed at LC-1, that is the highest

in the category.



BankWatch weighed the following factors: degree of ownership, strategic

importance, i.e. the role played the rated institution in its parent’s

global strategies, and systemic risk.
