NEW MANAGEMENT BOARD CHAIRMAN



The Supervisory Board of Eesti Telekom decided today to accept the 

resignation of the company's current Management Board chairman Toomas 

Sõmera as of 01.09.2000. The Supervisory Board unanimously appointed 

Jaan Männik (currently chairman of Eesti Telefon Management Board) to 

chair the Management Board of Eesti Telekom. According to Aare Tark, 

the head of Eesti Telekom Supervisory Board, the Supervisory Board 

expects the new Management Board chairman to effectively meet the 

strategic goals, which were set by the company's owners and followed 

by the current Management Board.



Jaan Männik is the CEO and Management Board chairman of Eesti Telefon

since 1997. From 1995 to 1996 Männik worked for Telia AB Televõrgud 

as head of international relations; from 1993 to 1995 he was the 

director of Eesti Telefon Tallinna Telefonivõrk.
