SUBSIDIARIES' NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS



Hansabank’s Council meeting held on August 31 decided to make a

proposal to recall Mr Magnus Francke and Mr Ago Lauri from the

councils of A/S Hansabanka and AB bankas Hansabankas and to appoint Mr

Lennart Lundberg and Mr Aivar Rehe as the new members. The decisions

to recall and appoint the members of the council have to be made by

the extraordinary shareholders’ meetings of the two banks. Mr Francke

will continue as a council member of Hansabank.



Mr Aivar Rehe is the Chief Credit Officer of Hansabank Group. He has

been with Hansabank since April 1998. Before joining Hansabank he held

the same position in Estonian Savings Bank.



Mr Lennart Lundberg is responsible for the Baltic and Poland region in

the International Alliances department in Swedbank. During 1999 – 2000

he was the head of Swedbank’s regional branch network in Stockholm and

during 1996 - 1999 he was the manager of Swedbank’s New York branch.
