COMMENTARY TO ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN ÄRIPÄEV ON 12.09.2000



With regard to the interview with Martti Porkka (Sampo Group's head 

of investments), which was published on 12.09.2000 in newspaper 

Äripäev, Optiva Pank hereby announces that Mr. Porkka expressed his 

personal opinion by saying that the shareholders will not receive 

dividends in the coming few years due to additional investment needs. 

Optiva Pank's majority owner Sampo Finance has not given an official 

confirmation to the aforementioned opinion.
