ANNOUNCEMENT



NEW BUSINESS NAME NEXT YEAR



Due to change of business name Optiva Bank will hold a press 

conference on Monday, 09.10.2000, beginning at 13.00, in Sampo House 

(Pronksi 19, Tallinn). The press conference is to be attended by 

Optiva Bank's Management Board chairman Mr. Härmo Värk and Sampo-

Leonia's head of Baltic region Mr. Olavi Laido.



As of January 2001 the new business name of AS Optiva Pank will be AS 

Sampo Pank. The bank will operate under Optiva Pank name until the 

end of this year.



The change of business name follows the changes in the bank's 

ownership structure last summer, whereby Sampo Finance bought 

majority holding in Optiva Pank.
