PRESS CONFERENCE OF A-SELVER



In connection with the press conference of AS A-Selver, subsidiary of

Tallinna Kaubamaja AS, taking place today, we issue the following

information:



The unaudited net sales of A-Selver for 9 months of 2003 was 743 million

kroons (47.5 million euros), showing an increase of 29 per cent over the

same period last year, when the respective figure was 576 million kroons

(36.8 million euros). A considerable increase in sales was seen in Q3 - 41

per cent, amounting to 274 million kroons (17.5 million euros). The net

turnover during the same period last year was 194 million kroons (12.4

million euros).



The success factors of A-Selver over competing supermarket chains lie in the

combination of the following:

-   good prices

-   wide assortment

-   quick and friendly service

-   local products and components of own products

-   product range of Selver Couisine.



Instead of the two existing production areas of Selver Couisine a central

large kitchen will be established in Kadaka Selver. The size of the

investment is 4 million kroons (0,3 million euros). The project will be

implemented by the end of Q1 2004.
