Development  of  NORD/LB  Latvija  in  the  first  six months of 2004 -

approximately twice more rapid than in the banking sector on average

The  amount  of assets in the first half year has increased by 32% (the

increase  of  amount  of  assets  in the banking sector on average - by

13,8%),  the  amount  of  deposits  -  by 35% (in the banking sector on

average - by 16%). The most rapid development was characteristic to the

loan  portfolio  of  the  bank - in 6 months it has increased by 41% in

comparison  to  the  beginning  of  the  year (in the banking sector on

average the loan portfolio has increased by 20%).



The  profit  of NORD/LB Latvija in the first half-year of 2004 has been

1.8  million  Ls,  and  it has more than doubled in comparison with the

respective period in the previous year.



As  of  today,  the bank has 21 branches and 11 sub-branches throughout

Latvia,  and  during  this  year it expects to substantively extend its

branch  network.  In  the beginning of 2004 the daughter company of the

bank NORD/LB Līzings started operations.
