Since  the  beginning  of  2004  Ventspils  Nafta  Termināls,  Ltd. - a

daughter company of Ventspils Nafta, JSC has handled 3.8 million tonnes

of crude oil and petroleum products.

The  total  volume of throughput has been made up of 1.8 million tonnes

of  gas  oil, including 1.2 million tonnes of crude oil, as well as 0.8

million tonnes of motor gasoline of various grades.

In  April  of  this  year  Ventspils Nafta Termināls, Ltd. handled 0.95

million  tonnes  of  crude  oil  and petroleum products, including 0.35

million  tonnes  of  gas  oil,  0.3 million tonnes of crude oil and 0.3

million tonnes of motor gasoline.

The April volumes of Ventspils Nafta Termināls, Ltd. were influenced by

common  trends  in  crude oil and petroleum products export from Russia

and other CIS countries.

In 1Q of 2004 total gas oil exports by railway from Russia and CIS when

compared  with  the  same  period of last year decreased by 0.2 million

tonnes and obviously continued to decrease also in April.

Experts point out that in the situation when world market price for oil

is  high  some  companies  in Russia and other CIS countries it pays to

export crude stock better than refined products.

All  cargoes  were  delivered  to  Ventspils  Nafta  Termināls, Ltd. by

railway.
