On  August 30, 2001 in Riga Stock Exchange auction of JSC Latvijas Gaze

shares  -  price  per share was LVL 6.13. All 1 197 000 shares or 3% of

company's  share  capital were sold. Auction price by LVL 0.51 exceeded

minimal price of LVL 5.62 per share.



Total auction turnover was LVL 7 337 610. JSC Latvijas Gaze shares were

sold by Privatisation Agency.



Guntars  Kokorevičs, President of Riga Stock Exchange: "We are pleased,

that  auction  was  so successful and raised LVL 7.3 mln. to the state.

From  all  four  public offerings for cash of Latvijas Gaze, which were

held at Riga Stock Exchange, the Latvian state has raised LVL 49 mln."



After  sale  of the 3 percent stake the Government of Latvia will still

own another 3 percent of JSC Latvijas Gaze .
