Today,  April  5 at 9AM begun annual pumping of natural gas from Russia

to Incukalna underground gas storage. Delivery of natural gas is taking

place  in  compliance  with  on  November  16,  1999  signed  long term

agreement  between JSC "Latvijas Gaze" and Gazprom on supply of natural

gas  to  Latvia  for the period ending in 2005. This gas is supplied to

fulfil  needs  of clients in Latvia, Russia and Estonia this autumn and

winter  and  spring  of  next  year. It is forecasted that this pumping

season  from April to October -1.66 billion cubic metres of natural gas

will  be  added  to  gas  storage  place.  At present gas storage place

contains 230 million cubic metres of natural gas. Total capacity is 4

billion cubic metres of natural gas.
