JSC "Balta" in the 1998 has written LVL 15,1 million in gross premiums,

which  is  LVL 1,7 million more than targeted.Gross recompensations for

the  1998  reached  LVL  5  million.  Regardless of essential impact of

Russian  financial  crises  and  after-effects  in CIS countries and in

Baltic  financial markets on the JSC "Balta" financial results for 1998

and investment loses in the amount of LVL 585

thousands,  unaudited  profit  for  the  1998  before  taxes is LVL 958

thousands.

Supervisory board of JSC "Balta" will review amount of dividend payment

for the

1998.  It  is  planned LVL 0,1 per share. Final decision will be passed

after  shareholders general meeting , which could take place at the end

of April.
