In  accordance with the resolution passed by the Annual general Meeting

of  Shareholders of JSC "Latvijas Unibanka" "On appropriation of profit

for the year

1997",  bonus  shares, distributed to shareholders holding shares as at

16 April

1998, will be credited to their accounts on 20 August.

This  will  see  the  close of the seventh share issue of JSC "Latvijas

Unibanka" and further 3,633,831 Unibanka shares will be put into public

circulation  in  addition  to the 24,891,824 shares currently in public

flotation.  As  of  20  August the number of Unibanka shares circulated
