Insurance  Company  'Balta'  has received LVL 6 337 952 in premiums for

the  first half of 1998. Comparing to the previous year the increase is

by 47,9 %.

LVL   2  504  848  Balta  has  received  from  mandatory  insurance  of

third-party  motor  liability  and  LVL  3  727  681  in  premiums from

voluntary insurance.

The total sum of claims in the first half of 1998 was LVL 2 010 852.

Balta  has  started  to  offer a new type of insurance - guarantees for

construction  works.  Recently,  in  Ventspils,  Balta  has  issued  an

insurance police for construction works for the sum of LVS 790 000.
