AS “Liepājas metalurgs" has increased production in 2004 



Market situation in 2004 was good for AS “Liepājas metalurgs”. Cost of raw 

materials was not so high as this year and raw materials were bought for 

cheaper prices. Production was realized when steel price in world market was 

highest. 



Now situation has changed and company might not meet the same results as in 

previous year. Prices has decreased during winter by 10% therefore results are 

rather unpredictable. 



In 2004, AS “Liepājas metalurgs” has increased production volume thanks to 

successful order structure, because most of them was with high production 

work added.  



Last year, AS “Liepājas metalurgs” steel production volume reached record high 

551.3 thousand tons, which is 1.4% more than in 2003. In 2004, 620 thousand tons of 

steel rolls were produced or 5.1% more than in 2003, 25 thousand tons of wires, 

which is 38.8% more than in 2003.
