THE RESULTS OF LEKS KINDLUSTUS AND LEKS ELUKINDLUSTUS IN THE I 

QUARTER OF 1999

 

The Estonia-based companies of Leks Grupp collected in Q1 insurance 

premiums in the amount of 53.2 million EEK.

 

During the first quarter of the current year, the companies of Leks 

Group, Leks Kindlustuse AS and Leks Elukindlustuse AS, collected a 

total of 53.2 million EEK in insurance premiums, which is three 

million EEK more than during the respective period of the last year. 

Gross premiums collected by Leks Kindlustus in three months totaled 

49.3 million EEK, whereas the same figure last year was 47.9 million 

EEK. Leks Elukindlustus collected insurance premiums in Q1 in the 

amount of 3.8 million EEK, as opposed to 2.5 million EEK during the 

same period last year. Leks Kindlustus paid claims in three months in 

the amount of 31.2 million EEK; during the same period, Leks 

Elukindlustus paid insurance claims in the amount of 0.4 million EEK.

In March, Leks Kindlustus collected gross premiums in total amount of 

16.7 million EEK, and paid claims for 13 million EEK.

Leks Elukindlustus collected insurance premiums in March for 1.6 

million EEK, and paid claims in the amount of 0.2 million EEK.

The structure of premiums collected by Leks Kindlustus in first three 

months of 1999 was the following: motor TPL insurance – 18.5 million 

EEK -, which accounts for 37% of the company’s insurance portfolio; 

corporate kasko insurance – 13.1 million EEK, corporate property 

insurance – 3.7 million EEK.

Most of the claims paid in three months are for corporate kasko 

insurance – 10.8 million EEK, and motor TPL insurance – 10.8 million 

EEK.
