COMMENTARY TO THE ARTICLE OF ÄRIPÄEV "ÜHISPANK RESCUED THE LOAN MONEY"

 

On January 4, 1999, the executive department of Harju Maakohus (Harju 

District Court) sold on the public offering the assets of 5 companies 

associated with AS Kiviter, which were pawned to Eesti Ühispank. The 

sale took place in order to meet the claims of Ühispank. The assets were 

sold to AS Viroliine at the price of 103 million EEK. This company is 

not owned by Ühispank and the members of the Ühispank Management Board 

have no interests in it. Ühispank does not have holdings neither in AS 

Kiviter nor in its subsidiaries. The clients' credit information in 

confidential in all banks.
