04.12.2001, Eesti Telekom, TLN
EESTI TELEKOM
ANNOUNCEMENT

BALTIC MOBILE OPERATORS CO-OPERATE

Co-operation among Baltic mobile phone operators permits
less expensive roaming.

EMT, LMT and Omnitel, the leading mobile communications
operators in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, have begun
co-operation with the aim of providing customers improved
service in the Baltic Sea region.

The co-operation project between EMT, LMT and Omnitel bears
the name Baltic Sea Alliance (BSA), and the joint motto is
"Baltic Partnership for Better Communications". BSA has been
created to provide services, and will not lead to the
formation of legal entities or changes in the present
ownership structure of the companies involved.

As the first result of co-operation, the customers of EMT,
LMT and Omnitel will be able to receive calls in the BSA
roaming partners network free of charge. International call
charge except for the Baltics will not change.

In order to use the service, while travelling in the Baltic
States the customer must select the network of the corresponding
co-operation partner, for instance an EMT customer would
select the LMT network in Latvia and the Omnitel network
in Lithuania.

EMT, LMT and Omnitel together possess a total of 1.3
million customers.
