Riga, 10 September - The leading Baltic telecoms equipment developer
and producer JSC SAF Tehnika has secured an agreement to supply
equipment to Columbia's biggest fixed network operator, ETB.
The agreement will give the Latvian producer SAF Tehnika a significant
increase in its export volume this year. The anticipated transaction
amount is USD 2 million.
"This agreement is significant because it is confirming the success of
SAF entering Latin American markets. We are very happy because the
Latin American region is one of our target markets, and we have future
plans there as well", said Normunds Bergs, Chairman of the company's
board.
The Bogotá-based telecoms company ETB is the biggest fixed network
operator in Columbia, with 2 million private and corporate subscribers
in 25 of Columbia's cities, including Bogotá, Santa Marta, Cartajena,
Medelin and Cali. In addition to telephone communications, the company
also provides Internet access and data transmission services.
