SEB Group earns SEK 3.447 billion in the first half of 2003; SEB Baltic & Poland profit is SEK 3

In the first six months of 2003 SEB Group profit is SEK 3.447 billion
(LVL 245.4 million). This is a 1% increase over the same period in
2002, whereas the Group costs have reduced by 6%. ROE is 11.6% and EPS
is SEK 3.8 (LVL 0.27). SEB Baltic&Poland, consisting of the banks in
the Baltic countries and investment fund SEB Fundusz in Poland, has
earned SEK 386 million (LVL 27.5 million) in the first half of 2003.

In the first six months of 2003 Unibanka Group has earned LVL 6.232
million (audited, consolidated). Comparing with the year before, net
profit has increased by 15.2% or LVL 823 thousand. As at end of June,
Group's operating income was LVL 22.378 million, or LVL 2.562 million
more than in the respective period of 2002.

During the first six months the Group assets increased by LVL 60.6
million or 8.5% and were LVL 769.914 million on June 30. Loan portfolio
was LVL 579.217 million: an increase of LVL 57.54 during a half-year.
The deposit value grew by LVL 66 million or 17% and was LVL 450.141
million at the end of June. Capital and reserves stood at LVL 76.038
million.

Apart from the bank, Unibanka Group includes leasing company
"Unilīzings", pension fund "Unipensija" and Investment Company "Optimus
Fondi" which has been acquired in spring this year. The consolidated
financial reports were audited by "Price WaterhouseCoopers".
