In May of 2003 JSC "Ventspils nafta" has reloaded over 1.1 million tons

of  oil  and oil products from rail. The volume of oil received by rail

continued to increase in May and amounted to 0.35 million tons.

The  company  started  to  accept oil by rail starting with December of

2002  and the volumes keep increasing: 0.1 million tons in January, 0.2

million  tons in February and March, 0.3 million tons in April and 0.35

million  tons  in  May. Apart from oil, in May JSC reloaded 0.6 million

tons of diesel oil and 0.2 million tons of gasoline.

Since  the  beginning  of  the  year  5.5  million  tons of oil and oil

products  have been reloaded at "Ventspils nafta" terminal, all of them

received by rail.
