Pursuant  to  the  provisions  of  the  legislation of the Republic of

Latvia,  Imants  Kalniņš  has  announced  that  on  May 15, 2003 he has

acquired   JSC   "Kaija"   1,460,000   shares  from  "ALBACON  Anstalt"

(Liechtenstein),   reg.  #  N.H.1044/91;  715,000  public  shares  from

"CARAVELA  LLC"  (USA),  reg.  # 0520542; and 220,800 non-public shares

from  "MARINIM  Ltd."  (United Kingdom), reg. # 4279385. Altogether the

new  acquisition  amounts to 2,395,800 shares or 49.5% of "Kaija" share

capital.
