Insurance  group  (IG)  "Balta"  in  July,  2000 has signed in non-life

insurance  premiums LVL 1 799 766, but in life insurance premiums - LVL

55 854.

IG  "Balta"  in  July, 2000 has paid out in insurance compensations LVL

526 371;

that  is  33,3%  from  all  compensations  paid  out in Latvia. In risk

insurance IG "Balta" has paid out LVL 501 998 and in life insurance LVL

24 374.

As  a result in first 7 month of 2000 IG "Balta" has signed in non-life

insurance premiums LVL 10 771 769, but in life insurance premiums - LVL

662  000. Insurance compensations paid out during this period are LVL 5

008 104 and LVL 240 848

respectively. Average compensation level in IG "Balta" is 46.3%.

According  to  Insurance  Surveillance  Inspection  data for 7 month IG

"Balta"  contains  21%  of  risk  insurance  and  29% of life insurance

market.  Therefore  IG "Balta" has retained leading position in Latvian

insurance market.
