confirmed budget forecast for year 2000:

-martin  steel  490  000  tons should be produced, that is by 1,7% more

than in the last year,

-rolled metal 476 000 tons ,

- wire articles 9137 tons,

-nails 3600 tons, In year 2000 forecasted profit is LVL 1,5 million.

On December 21, 1999 three years since state company Liepajas metalurgs

became  JSC  have  passed.  During this period company has successfully

developed  and  have  met all requirements set by Privatisation Agency.

Requirement to retain 2216

jobs  was  been  fulfilled  - in 1999 there were 2550 workers , average

salary  has grown from LVL 127 in 1996 to LVL 220 in 1999 and is one of

the  highest  in country; net turnover has grown from LVL 27 million in

1996 to LVL 59 million in

1998.  Significant  overflow of investments set by Privatisation Agency

has been reached as well.
