JSC  "Balta"  informs  that on November 6, 1998, the company received a

letter  from  Development  Capital  Corporation  (Latvia) regarding the

increase of holdings of Development Capital Corporation (Latvia) in JSC

"Balta" by 14,469 shares.This results in a holding of 1,102,109 shares,

or, 33.4% of the paid-up capital.
