MeritaNordbanken   Group   has  purchased  33.8%  (1.788  million)  JSC

"Latvijas  Investīciju  banka"  shares from Finnish Fund for Industrial

Cooperation  Ltd.(Finnfund)  on  October  29, 1998, thus doubling their

participation in the LIB capital.

After  the  above mentioned deal MeritaNordbanken Group owns 69.605% of

LIB shares.

The allocation of the equity capital is following:

MeritaNordbanken Group 69.605%

Nordic Investment Bank 20%

Finnfund 10.389%
