Management of JSC "Kaija" has implemented marketing strategy, which was
intended on development of fish culinary production. Those products is
mainly oriented on Baltic market. In order to strengthen market,
marketing activity were made in Latvia and Lithunania. Depend on
situation in Russia, JSC "Kaija" hardly develop domestic market
segment. As result, in first seven months of 1998, sales in Baltic
region was 2 994 451 Ls, or 53% more than in corresponding period of
1997. Profit of first seven months of 1998 prior to taxation is 291 036
Ls, but net profit is 6 397 Ls.
Marketing department of JSC "Kaija" in 1998 made activity to expand
market share in Russia, especially in S-Petersburg, but taking into
account present situation, decision has been made to stop those
activities for limited period, because of problems on settlement and
export safety.
