LATVIAN SHIPPING COMPANY’S COUNCIL GIVES NOTICE TO QUIT CONTRACTS
OF EMPLOYMENT TO FORMER BOARD MEMBERS

Today, March 11th, in accordance with Commercial Law and respective
regulations of Labour Law Uldis Pumpurs, the Chairman of the Council
of the joint stock company Latvian Shipping Company based on the
unanimous decision of the Council made on March 10th, 2005, has
signed notices to quit employment contracts of the three former
members of the Board, viz. V.Godunovs, A.Akmens and A.Enkuzens as
from March 11th, 2005.

The reason for all three notices to dismiss the former Board members
is the unlawful and gross exceeding of their authorities on February
9th,2005 when they publicly announced their allegedly made decision
to cancel the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of the Latvian
Shipping Company which had been earlier lawfully called to be held
on February 11th, 2005.

The above mentioned people continued acting unlawfully also after
the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting of February 11th, 2005
by violating the decisions of the new and lawfully elected Council
of the Latvian Shipping Company to suspend the Board members’
authorities of V.Godunovs, A.Akmens and A.Enkuzens as they were
spreading false and widely misleading information as if it were
on behalf of the Latvian Shipping Company.
