NEGOTIATIONS WITH EBRD ON SHAREHOLDING IN KVEST BANK



Hansabank and EBRD are negotiating on a potential investment by EBRD in

Hansabank's Russian daughter bank, Kvest bank.



According to preliminary negotiations EBRD would buy a 15% holding in Kvest bank

after it has been recapitalised by Hansabank.



No formal decision has been made concerning this, Hansabank and EBRD intend to

finalise the negotiations during Q3 2005.
