EMT opens 3G network and services

From October 28th, 2005, AS EMT (Ltd) becomes the first mobile network operator
in Estonia to open 3G network for commercial use and to offer 3G services.
3G or third-generation mobile connection enables high-speed data communication
that, in turn, allows forwarding moving images and video clips. In EMT 3G
network, the speed of data connection is 384 KB per second.
EMT foresees essential growth in data communication next to call services; data
connection is also one of EMT's strategic development goals. The launch of 3G
will help increase EMT data communication revenue.
According to 3G license terms, 3G network must cover 30% of Estonian population
by the year 2010. At the opening, EMT 3G network covers most of Tallinn, capital
of Estonia.
EMT 3G network equipment is manufactured by Ericsson.

AS EMT (www.emt.ee) is a 100% subsidiary of AS Eesti Telecom. In 2004, the
turnover of EMT and its subsidiaries (EMT Group) was 3,002 million EEK and after-
tax profit 665 million EEK. As of the end of the 3rd quarter 2005, EMT had
650,500 customers. The EMT Group has 512 employees.
