SIA Ventspils nafta termināls transshipment volumes increasing



The daughter company of the joint stock company Ventspils nafta – SIA 

Ventspils nafta termināls transhipped in October 2005 0.6 million tonnes 

of petroleum products delivered by railroad, twice as large exceeding the 

transhipment results for the analogous period of 2004. Taking into account 

the increase of the total export of petroleum products from Russia and 

CIS countries, SIA Ventspils nafta termināls continue to tranship 

outstanding volumes of gas oil with different sulphur content as well as 

various grades of motor gasoline.



In October 2005 SIA Ventspils nafta termināls transhipped more than 0.3 

million tonnes of gas oil (sulphur content of 0.005%, 0.05% and 0.2%) 

and more than 0.3 million tonnes of motor gasoline (grades 76, 80, 92). 

This level of transhipment was influenced by the fact that this year in 

October, when compared with the previous month, gas oil and motor 

gasoline export from CIS countries increased by 0.7 million tonnes and 

0.2 million tonnes respectively. Moreover, the profitable services 

offered by SIA Ventspils nafta termināls to their customers also 

contributed to the fact of transhipment volumes’ increase.



In total, within the period from January to October 2005 SIA Ventspils 

nafta termināls transhipped 7 million tonnes of crude oil and petroleum 

products, including 3.3 million tonnes of motor gasoline and 3.5 million 

tonnes of gas oil.
