Tallinn Stock Exchange Press Release
October 10, 2001

On October 19 and 20, Tallinn Stock Exchange (TSE) together with Estonian main business daily Äripäev will hold in Tallinn the second money and capital markets fair Rahakompass 2001 (MoneyCompass 2001).

“Our aim is to enhance today’s and future investors’ knowledge about benefits of saving and investing, and we want to do it in cooperation with all market participants,” TSE Management Board chairman Gert Tiivas said.

The major topics of this year’s Rahakompass are launch of pension reform in Estonia, adoption of European single currency, and integration of Estonian and Finnish stock markets. In addition to the above, the visitors of the fair can also attend in two days the seminars and panel discussions on the outlook of global economy after the recent tragedy in America, and hear about the new trends on world stock markets.

The list of speakers includes Estonian Finance Minister Siim Kallas, Central Bank President Vahur Kraft, TSE Management Board Chairman Gert Tiivas, investment bankers Rain Lõhmus, Toomas Reisenbuk, Priit Põldoja, and many others.

As a special attraction, all visitors of Rahakompass 2001 will have a chance to try out trading in stocks in a “broker game”, where the software used is the same as in the actual TSE trading system. Public recording of a special edition of popular TV quiz show “Kuldvillak” (“Jeopardy!”) will take place during the fair.

The fair will gather all major participants in the Estonian financial market (banks, brokerages, insurance companies), also the stock exchange issuers and media / information vendors. Participants include Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, Tallinn Stock Exchange, Estonian Central Depository for Securities, HEX, Hansabank, Estonian Union Bank, Nordea Bank, Sampo Bank, investment banks LHV and Trigon Markets, etc.
