Daiga Auziņa–Melalksne, CEO of NASDAQ OMX Riga, elected to the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia

Riga, March 23, 2010 – NASDAQ OMX Riga informs that Daiga Auziņa–Melalksne, Chairman of the NASDAQ OMX Riga Management Board, has been elected a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. „As an American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia Board member, I intend to continue with promoting a transparent, predictable and conductive business environment in Latvia, establishing good corporate governance and good corporate citizenship principles both in the business community and public sector, encouraging more support to these values equally from the legislator and executive bodies,” says Daiga Auziņa–Melalksne.

NASDAQ OMX Riga became a member of the American Chamber of Commerce a year ago. During the past year the exchange has involved itself in the activities of the American Chamber of Commerce and has supported its initiatives. The CEO of NASDAQ OMX Riga is among signatories of the Statement of Good Corporate Citizenship adopted by the American Chamber of Commerce.

The Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce consists of nine members. Four were elected by the Annual General Meeting, opened by H.E. Mrs. Judith G. Garber, Ambassador of the United States of America to Latvia. Her opening address appreciated the long-lasting successful cooperation between the United States Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia.
