Financial results of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn in 2010

Tallinn March 29, 2011 – NASDAQ OMX Tallinn today disclosed its annual report for 2010 approved by the supervisory board, according to which the Group’s profit amounted to nearly EUR 450,000 (EEK 7 million).

The consolidated financial results of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn in 2010 were affected by the inconsistent payment behavior of the client base of the Estonian Central Depository for Securities, mergers, liquidations and bankruptcies of companies. In the business line of the stock exchange, the results were mainly affected by the departure of Eesti Telekom, an increase in the market value of companies, and a rise in mainly local investors’ trading activity compared to the years of the recent economic crisis. The Group also continued to provide the service of organising general meetings and advising other countries in the area of pension reforms.

This year, NASDAQ OMX Tallinn wants to place greater emphasis on the export of its expertise and IT solutions. For this purpose, close contacts were established last year with EBRD, the World Bank as well as other international organisations and partners, and interactive presentation solutions were prepared which represented Estonian financial services also in EXPO 2010.

In 2010, the operating income of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn dropped by 10% to EUR 3.6 million (EEK 57 million). Net profit of the Group in 2010 was EUR 447 381 EUR (EEK 7 million; 2009: EEK 15.1 million). In 2010, net profit margin was 12% (2009: 24%). The results are consolidated and audited.

At the end of the last year, NASDAQ OMX Tallinn group employed 43people, of whom 6 were on parental leave. The number of the Group’s employees has dropped by 7% year-over-year. Income per employee was EUR 84 300 or almost as much as in the previous year. The employees of NASDAQ OMX participate in the employee stock plan, enabling them to acquire shares in NASDAQ OMX (including share options) if the objectives of the company are fulfilled.
