11.05.2016 TLN

Tallinn/Riga/Vilnius, Nasdaq Baltic Market, May 11, 2016 – Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) announces that Nasdaq Baltic in cooperation with FinanceEstonia will hold the Baltic Capital Markets Forum 2016, a high level international conference in Tallinn on May 12. The Forum is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange and will focus on fostering the development of the Baltic capital market.

„The financial and investment world has been evolving and changing rapidly, especially over the last few years. The Forum provides a platform for the key players of the region’s investment scene to join their minds and forces in fulfilling the goal we all share: to put our capital markets to their most productive use for benefitting the Baltic economies and societies,“ said  Arminta Saladžienė, Head of Nasdaq Baltic Market.

The topics for this year’s Forum include the assessment of the Baltic capital markets from the investors’ perspective, sharing experience in how to cultivate a broad-based investor community and engage citizens more actively in shaping the economy, an in-depth examination of the true potential of the Baltic IPO market; and insight into the power of the financial technology. Also, the government’s role in developing the financial markets will be under discussion.

The Forum hosts a number of prominent speakers, including Kristen Michal (the Minister of Economic Affairs of Estonia), Henrik Husman (President of Nasdaq Helsinki), Linnar Viik (Co-founder of Pocopay), Jens Henriksson (CEO of Folksam), Daniels Pavluts (Lecturer at the SSE Riga and a former Minister of Economic Affairs of Latvia), Fredrik Voss (Head of Nasdaq’s Blockchain Strategy), Aare Tammemäe (Senior partner at Redgate Capital), Kaidi Ruusalepp (Co-founder and CEO of Funderbeam), Ivars Bergmanis (Head of Institutional Markets at LHV Pank) and many others.

The Forum will attract over 200 capital market professionals, policy makers, business and investment community experts from the Baltic region and beyond.

The full program and list of speakers is available on the Forum’s website at bcmf2016.com.
